Post Diwali scenes

I used this beautiful box to store my makeup stuff

And the 'Festival of lights' ends!
What an awesome Diwali it was! I was at home and I celebrated it with my family and friends. Apart from this, all of us noticed that this Diwali there was more awareness about the nuisance caused by crackers and the paramount noise pollution that eventually leads to damage. Youngsters were talking about environmental hazards and reverted to meeting up friends and relatives rather than bursting crackers. However I believe we are being hypocritical. The reason behind saying this is that we have already created enough damage in our childhood by bursting a huge number of crackers. And now that the consequences are prevalent, we are asking our younger siblings and others to not to burst crackers.

But as they say ,it is never too late.Working now is better than sitting and watching Mother Nature being tormented. We can still save our environment provided each one of us makes his/her own contribution.

Diwali is one of the most loved festivals of India (and as Indians are residing everywhere, it is celebrated all across the globe). During Diwali, our loved ones visit us as well as we visit our loved ones. Gifts are exchanged. But the point is , what about the boxes? From sweets boxes to gift boxes to gift wraps , ribbons and so on, all of us are left with enormous waste materials apart from the love and affection of the person who gifted it to us. What to do about it? Here's what I did about it ( It may prove useful to you as well)

Sweets boxes : creative and well decorated boxes (received from our "Well to do " relatives of course ) can be used for storing stuff like rubber bands, paper clips , pins and other stationary or articles like bangles , not-so-easy-to-find bob pins and safety pins or Arsenal, FCB badges..in fact anything.

Ribbons and gift wraps : they can be actually used to wrap another gift! You can just unwrap your gift cleverly without damaging the paper and keep it properly so that you can use it to wrap a gift for your friend's birthday the next week ( Okay, yes! I did that) Why waste money ? (Thank me later)

Cards, decorative articles and other papers : Decorative articles and other beautiful coloured papers can be used for your younger brother's or sister's art project (well, in case you don't have younger siblings give it to your neighbour's children. Basically according to the new education system, every school going child is bound to make art projects.Period!) And about the cards, come on. Hand made cards are meant to be preserved till eternity.

For all the other card boards or papers which are not in a condition to be reused, give them away for recycling ( to the raddiwala) for which you get money from him. *happiness*

The whole point behind saying this is that there is already enough garbage on the planet. Why add more to it? It's time that we remember the 3R (Reuse Reduce Recycle)

P.S. : We don't own this planet. We just live on it( like PGs) We share it with a number of other creatures. So, if they don't disturb us, we don't have any rights to disturb them.
Blessed are we who can adapt, protect and survive ( for humans have the ability 'to think' perhaps which is utilized less these days) But as they say, nothing lasts forever.Talking about extinct species, let's not add our names to the list!
